LMNB - Lager Mobilisation Network Berlin

protocol #16+17 – forming a ‘lager mobilisation network’ in berlin

Lager mobilisation
this is our 16+17th protocol to form a “lager mobilisation network” in berlin. again, around 12-15 people were there – thanks to u all. please add, correct and criticize in the comment section.

1. introduction of the network for our new people
2. reports from our weekly lager visits
3. collaborations and ideas
4. facebook – our page
5. press-release about the “lager mobilisation network”
6. next central and decentral meetings

1. introduction of the network for our new people

our goal is to have a decenteralized lager-mobilisation in berlin and hopefully one day in brandenburg. we already visited some lagers, did some research about the shit living conditions inside and how they are built to make money off of illegalized and isolated human beings we label as “refugees”. right now there are over 33.000 people (official number by lageso) just in berlin in lagers.

the lager-mobilisation-network is an OPEN network with decenteralized working groups against the slavery which taking place inside the lagers – so join like u want and your personal scheduele allows u to participate; plus we do NOT do anything “illegal”. we are people from all over the world and speak english during our meetings, but german translation is always possible, for other languages hit us up please – or if possible bring your friends with u.

after some re/thinking rounds, practical action and personal connection we developed two guidlines for the coming steps, but these ideas are dynamic and realated to our possibilites and the exprience we gain, a short summary:

I. short and mid-term:

a. we will go and talk with groups who know and can teach about the legal problems and educate ourselves in this direction and then visit again the lagers in small groups and spread this hardly needed information as the people asked us when we were visiting them; in addition to this we take info flyers etc. with us about the legal situations. we also invite (not force…)  the so-called refugees living in those lagers we visit to be part of our group.

b. we want also be part of the “neighbourhood/welcoming-initiatives” and bring some alternative ideas and information from the self-organized struggle additional to their great charity work.

–> therefore we need some MORE people who speak different languages like: arabic, albanian, dari/farsi, serbo-croatian, tigrinya, urdu etc. – every languages is needed.

–> decentral working activists: people who are interessted to take care of the lagers in their around their living places like the districts they are living in and contact the people inside of lagers and participate in “neighbourhood/welcoming-initiatives” there – we (will) start very slow but very focused idea on this.

II. long-term:

we are searching for rooms all over berlin OUTSIDE but next to the lagers to build up small communities so people can organize themselves for the time they are forced to live inside of lagers. plus we will accompany them and try to bring alternative content like workshops etc. to those places – if its needed!

–> if u have a room or contact for such rooms (house projects, meeting-rooms), please let us know

–> if u know people for such content/workshops, please connect them to us

2. reports from our weekly lager visits

a. brandenburg

neuharden berg:
– condition is ok: one appartement for 4-5 people
– money once a month only in cash
– no bank accounts available, because the local bank doenst want this
– one hour drive to sozialamt to take the money
– a local supporting group was kicked out -> reason?

waldsiedlung
– KIB went to waldsiedlung
– people selforganise to stoves
– people riot against lager direction and the shit conditions
– police confisscated the stoves as punishment
– 27th january meeting with lawyer and KIB, translators needed

– bus is official, every second week another lage, then eisenhüttenstadt
– contact: LMBB@riseup.net

b. neu-kölln:

c&a-lager at karl-marx-str.
– looks like aiport inside with cabinets and tents
– security wants/wanted to avoid the intiviation for the demo on 20. january

aiport-tempelhof:

– security is very rude and threat people like dictators
– security checks like airport, u have to pass 6 gates
– demo – 20. january 2016 – promo is still running
– its important to make advertisment for the demo infront of the lager, inside is too dangerous

– people are allowed to work for 1,5 € per hour for total 3 hours
– it seems that the goverment wants to build a special “job center” infornt of the tempelhof-lager
– tureky-syria exprience from an person: the payment for german workers will fall off very soon
– campaign for legal=illegal payment needed

c. wedding:

contact with the emergency lager in wiesenstr.:

– food is not good, people had to it throw up and got sick
– legal counceling in wedding; date: wenseday, 20. januar 2016, 8pm, only for non-citizens

general:

– workshop ideas for underage people: media and empowerment
– we will see what we can do

local map on paper:

– the map is almost finished
– we be published online too
– offer for free printing if we need from the oplatz.net

3. collaborations and ideas

collaborations:

a. mobile kitchen:

– a group with a mobile kitchen wants to collabrate with us
– they will visit the neu-kölln group at their local meeting and talk to them
– local groups in wedding and brandenburg are also interessted

b. www.oplatz.net:

– the newspaper is getting ready and they asked us for an intro-text –> we will deliver
– if u know people who want to do media work, connect them with oplatz.net

c. mediterianian sea watch phone:

– this group contacted us so we can spread their contacs, phone numbers and contact cards to people inside lagers
– they make pressure if a ship is at the sea and needs help while the government doenst want so help
– we will collaborate for sure

ideas:

how to promo our activites at different universities in berlin:
– pre-promo: flyer action at mensa etc.
– info-event with students from the universities
– motivate people to join the exisiting groups or make new ones
– possible univerisities: fu, tu, hu and ash
– preparation needed: how to transfer our idea
– better next semester, cause this one is already done
– we already did a info-event in wedding, use it a guideline:

Anhören: Vortrag zum deutschen Asylverfahren und zur Lagermobilisierung in Berlin

Programme // O-Platz wird 10 – Baustelle Migration

We invite you to celebrate 10 years of the refugee resistance movement, that occupied Oranienplatz and later the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Schule in Ohlauer Straße. To mark this anniversary, we will gather at Oranienplatz from 5.10 – 9.10.2022 to celebrate the history of the refugee movement. There will be panels, concerts, photo exhibitions, art performances, a zine workshop and much more! Angela Davis will also be coming to support our local struggles. We will be posting the entire programme over the next few days on our Instagram account and on oplatz.net. Let’s come together, remember, and fight for the fair treatment of all refugees!
